This is a case-sensitive search for a specified string within one verse of the King James Bible. It offers a lot of advanced and precise search techniques and it finds ALL occurrences of a given string so that when the answer is "There are no results" it is really so.

Basic information on how to use our search engine

This search finds each verse in the Bible containing the specified string. For example, if your search string is man ha you will find verses with the following strings "man have", "woman have", "man hath", "man had", "man hate", "Haman hasted", etc. And if your search string is oil you will find verses with the following words: "oil", "spoiled", "toil", "boil", etc.

If you want to look for whole words you can use the tag [x] which stands for any punctuation symbol or any whitespace character, and which can thus serve to delineate words. For example, the search for [x]oil[x] will yield all occurrences of the word 'oil' without bothering you with words like 'toil' or 'spoil'.

If you want to find a verse which contains two strings not necessarily next to each other and possibly some distance apart from each other, you can use the tag [*], which stands for any string with at least one character. For example, the search string [x]either[*][x]or[x] can be used to locate instances of the "either ... or" structure. And if you are looking for instances of "whether ... or not", you can use whether[*]or not.

Note that the search for string1[*]string2 will return only those verses in which string1 comes first and is followed by string2. If you want to allow each of the strings to come first you can use the "or" operator | like this: string1[*]string2|string2[*]string1.

Since this search engine is case-sensitive you could write for example (M|[x]m)an[x] if you want to find all occurrences of the words 'man' and 'Man'.

Special tags and syntax rules for advanced and precise searches

[x]	any punctuation symbol or any whitespace character
[*]	any string with at least one symbol
[a]	any string of consecutive letters with at least one letter
[w]	a word - any string of consecutive letters preceded with and followed by a punctuation symbol or a whitespace character
[l]	one letter: a-z, A-Z
[p]	any punctuation symbol like . , : ; ! ? ' - ( )
[s]	one whitespace character, for example, a space or a line break
|	used for giving alternatives
( )	grouping brackets used for syntax
